Max Planck Society falling short in bid to provide equal opportunities

Increasing the number of women in senior and middle management is proving difficult, the Max Planck Society has admitted in a review 12 months after its ambitious gender equality targets were introduced.

In early 2012, the society set itself the goal of increasing its number of women managers and directors by five per cent over five years. But based on the first year, it is not on course to meet that target, the society has stated.
