European politicians and researchers have called on the EU to do more to help more women break into research jobs, at an EU event on women in planetary science, reports The Parliament magazine.
“Europe needs to capitalise on upcoming missions like Rosetta and JUICE to inspire the next generation of women scientists and engineers,” said Athena Coustenis, director of research at France’s National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) in the Parliament article. “But it also needs to address the problems that discourage them from staying in the field and the resulting waste of training and skills.”
