NGOs slam food agency’s opinion on endocrine disruptors

Health and environment organisations say a report by the EU's Food Safety Authority (Efsa) plays down scientific evidence that endocrine disruptors are harmful for human health.

Endocrine disruptors include several chemicals used for example in plastics, cosmetics, packaging and paints that have been linked to negative health effects. Last week, the European Parliament urged the European Commission to tighten regulations on these substances to protect human health.
