Scientists support Innovative Medicines Initiative successor

Researchers from the life sciences have expressed their support for a public-private partnership under Horizon 2020 to continue the work of the Innovative Medicines Initiative. In the results of a European Commission consultation, respondents say the IMI has been successful in achieving its objectives, bringing together researchers from the public sector and industry to translate research into pharmaceutical products. However, respondents say the succeeding partnership should have a wider scope and simpler implementation than the IMI.
