Effective organisation is crucial for consortium calls
Having coordinated bids for EU funding for the best part of a decade, Emmanuel Detsis from the European Science Foundation says he treats the development of projects as a science in its own right. In the previous issue of Research Europe, he explained how multi-partner bids can go wrong. This time, Detsis focuses on how to get things right.
The linchpin of a successful bid is getting a strong team together that fits the requirements of the call, he says. “Strong doesn’t necessarily mean famous or the top of the field, but you need to identify the right people for the right job.”
