French Nobel winner made immortal

French immunologist Jules Hoffman, who shared the Nobel physiology and medicine prize in 2011, has been elected to be one of the 40 “immortels” of the French Academy.

Hoffman was voted into the learned society—which focuses on the French language—on 1 March.
