Strasbourg chemist shares Nobel prize

Martin Karplus, of the University of Strasbourg, has been awarded a share in the Nobel prize for chemistry.

He received the award jointly with Michael Levitt of Stanford University and Arieh Warshel of the University of Southern California.

The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences awarded the prize on 9 October for work developing computer systems to understand chemical processes.
