Hollande pledges to lead by example on doctorate recognition

The French government should lead by example in recognising the value of a doctorate degree in the world of work, president François Hollande has said.

The forthcoming higher education and research bill will contain measures aimed at giving graduates with a doctorate better options based on their higher qualifications and the government must make sure it hires more of them in the civil service, he said.
