INSERM researchers report widespread links with patient groups

INSERM, France’s largest biomedical research organisation, has published a survey of 650 researchers that shows 81 per cent are in contact with patient organisations and around half are in regular contact. This contact includes providing scientific information to patients, and working on scientific projects. Just under half of the researchers who were in contact with patient groups received funding for collaborating with them.
