France’s government plans to invest €150 million from the 2008 economic stimulus package into developing five technologies to support the digital economy, as part of a national digital roadmap published on 28 February.
Research organisations working in digital technologies are also being called upon to come up with a set of strategic themes by the summer that could fit into France’s forthcoming national research strategy, particularly in support of the five priority areas. The technologies given priority include high-performance computing, digital security, cloud computing and big-data services.
