Government keeps an eye on the land

France’s agriculture minister Stéphane Le Foll has commissioned an advisory panel to monitor land use.

The group will work on developing tools to monitor and predict changing patterns of agricultural land use. Natural spaces and forests will also come under its remit.

Announcing the start of the panel’s work, Le Foll said he wanted to see a comprehensive evaluation of land use by the autumn.
