Conference mobilises entrepreneurs

A conference that will look at how far industry funding can replace constrained public budgets to support innovation will take place in France this week.

The second annual innovation conference, Rencontres de l’Entrepreneuriat Innovant Nord et Sud, organised by innovative business incubator Bond’Innov, will take place at the IRD, France’s institute for development research, in the north of France.

Gilbert Roger, president of Bond’Innov, and Michel Laurent, president of the IRD, are both expected to attend the conference on 6 November, when researchers, academics, private and public funders, contractors and entrepreneurs will discuss the role that industry can play funding research in the present climate of limited public budgets.
