French astronaut Thomas Pesquet has landed on Earth after six months aboard the International Space Station.
Pesquet became famous for making a video for the European Space Agency during his trip, in which he said: “For some reason, it takes all of this technology for us to come up here and understand the simplicity of things—the Earth, the cosmos and life itself as a unity," he said. "From here, it’s really difficult to understand borders, wars and hate.”
He returned on 2 June. French president Emmanuel Macron and Frédérique Vidal, minister for higher education an research, watched the landing from the CNES, the National Centre for Space Studies.
