French president Emmanuel Macron has used a cabinet reshuffle to bring several close allies into government, including Stéphane Travert as agriculture minister.
Travert, a former socialist MP who left the party to join Macron’s En Marche! political movement last year, was named one of 12 new members in the French government on 21 June.
He will replace Jacques Mézard, who was appointed minister for regional cohesion after being agriculture minister for only a month.
