France launches €100m green fund

Bpifrance, a public investment bank, has set up an energy and environment investment fund as part of its efforts to encourage green businesses in France.

Bpifrance launched the €100-million fund on 3 July.

In a statement, the bank said that the fund would initially focus on small and medium-sized businesses in the areas of renewable energy, energy efficiency and the circular economy. The fund would make investments at each stage of companies’ development with the aim of creating French companies “of significant size” in the area, the statement said.
