French masters selection portal ‘not used enough’

An online platform set up to manage applications to masters courses for 2017-18 has not attracted many users, the government has said.

The website trouvermonmaster.gouv.fr was set up by the government to manage applications, after an overhaul of the French masters system that led to universities being able to select which masters applicants they accepted onto their courses for the 2017-18 academic year. Previously the only entry criterion to most courses was a first degree.

However a government spokesperson told the EducPros news service on 22 August that the site had so far been “little used” by students.
