University ‘isn’t for everyone’, says Macron

French president Emmanuel Macron has said his government “will not carry on letting everyone believe that a university education is the best solution” for all young people.

Macron made the remark in an interview published in Le Point, a weekly political magazine, on 30 August.

Rather than having his government focus all its efforts on higher education, Macron said it would aim to ensure that young people excluded from the university system could gain the right qualifications to find good jobs.
