Paris-Saclay University’s artificial intelligence research hub DataIA has not been chosen as one of four French AI institutes that will share €100 million in public funding over the next four years.
A different Paris-based partnership as well as collaborations based in Grenoble, Nice and Toulouse have been selected as France’s interdisciplinary AI institutes, the French government announced on 6 November.
The institutes are an important component of France’s AI strategy, which was unveiled by president Emmanuel Macron in March. The government intends them to link researchers in universities and research institutes with startups and other businesses.
