Police move to end university protest occupations

Armed police have ended the student occupations of Paul Valéry University and the Panthéon-Sorbonne University’s Tolbiac campus.

Police moved in to clear the Tolbiac campus in the south-eastern corner of Paris on 20 April. The site had been blocked for three weeks by people protesting against a new admissions system set to apply from September.

About a hundred protesters were removed from the building, Le Monde reported. The action was followed by a peaceful protest in front of the building attended by several hundred people.
