Upper house examines education financing after complaints that government funds business over research
France’s senate, the equivalent to the UK’s upper house, is in the process of reading the “Projet de loi de finances pour 2020”, the draft public finance bill for the coming year.
As France prepares its 2020 budget, public research and higher education organisations have complained that not enough funding has been set aside for them. The bill was adopted this month by the National Assembly, the lower house of the French parliament.
