France’s biggest public research funder has launched a series of workshops looking at the impact of artificial intelligence on society in collaboration with Canada and the UK.
Jointly funded by France’s CNRS, UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) and the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR), the workshops will examine the ethical, policy and legal implications of AI, the funders said in a joint statement on 15 April.
Eight workshops have been selected for funding, with each receiving up to C$50,000 (€33,200) from a combined pot of C$400,000 from the three organisations.
