The government has announced the launch of “Connected Campuses” dedicated to remote learning in parts of France without a local university.
The first 13 Connected Campuses will launch for the 2019-20 academic year, higher education and research minister Frédérique Vidal said on 3 May. The government expects about 100 such campuses to be in operation for the start of the 2022-23 year, she added.
Connected Campuses will allow students to follow courses provided by French universities remotely and also provide on-site support for students from tutors. Students will have access to remote support from teaching staff at the university providing the course content, Vidal said.
