Starting gun fired for Olympic research scheme

France’s national research agency, the ANR, has opened a funding call to support the country’s athletes competing in the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris.

The first round of the two-round scheme, which is backed by €20 million, opened on 29 April with a deadline for bids of 20 June.

Bids will have to respond to one of nine challenges, including “big data and artificial intelligence in service of performance”, “cognition and mental preparation” and “man-material interactions and the optimisation of material”.
