University chiefs say regional issues should be at front and centre of research funding reform
Regional issues and interaction with local authorities are to be placed at the centre of France’s universities, according to a strategy devised by the Conference of University Presidents (CPU).
Last week, the CPU announced the creation of a University and Territories Commission, which will study the regional impact of universities on training, research and innovation. The commission will also ensure that university international and pan-European policies, which are considered important factors in boosting the attractiveness of French regions, are implemented correctly.
