CEA wins big as part of France Relaunch

French nuclear school to get funding boost under government’s recovery programme

French ministers have pledged to increase funding for the Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA) to grow nuclear research and training, as part of the country’s post-pandemic recovery plan.

On 15 April, environment minister Barbara Pompili, economy minister Bruno Le Maire and junior minister for the economy Agnès Pannier-Runacher signed an amendment to the Nuclear Strategic Committee’s nuclear sector contract, promising an additional €470 million for the CEA.
