Minister promises French students will have complete access to universities, but admits to backup plan

The French government is preparing for all university students to return physically to universities at the start of the 2021-22 academic year, the minister for higher education and research has said.

In an interview on the radio station France Inter on 27 April, Frédérique Vidal said that the government would work with universities to prepare “fallback solutions” whereby universities would operate at half capacity if necessary.
