French parliament to vote on bigger ministerial spending as government prepares for election
France’s ministry for higher education and research could see its budget upped by €700 million next year, as government spending grows across the board ahead of upcoming elections.
The country’s 2022 budget bill was presented to France’s council of ministers on 22 September by economy minister Bruno Le Maire. It will push the total annual allocation to the higher education and research ministry up to €24.6 billion, making it the fourth-largest tranche of government spending.
