Seven-year programme aims to take experimental technology mainstream

The CNRS, France’s largest public research organisation, has launched a seven-year project to accelerate the development and adoption of synthetic DNA and polymer-based data-storage technology.

The project, named MoleculArXiv, has been awarded an initial €20 million from the French government’s Investments for the Future (PIA) programme, administered by public investment bank BPIFrance. It will be funded as an exploratory research venture under the priority research and equipment programme (PEPR) funding scheme, which is intended to champion the development of novel technologies.
