France keeps focus on rankings performance

Government's merger policies are paying off, says research minister

The French research ministry has once again feted its academic institutions’ performance in a set of international rankings, this time those compiled by the Centre for Science and Technology Studies of the University of Leiden.

In a statement published on 22 June, the ministry said France’s performance in the rankings, which focus on institutions’ scientific reputation and the impact of its publications, was “confirmation of France’s scientific prowess”.
