Pandemic boosted research jobs in France, report shows

Government survey also notes rise in temporary contracts at public research organisations

A detailed government report on scientific employment in France has shown that the number of researchers and scientists grew considerably in 2020, the most recent year included in the analysis.

The survey, undertaken by Sies, a government body for statistical studies, showed that there were 482,850 full-time-equivalent research posts at the end of 2020.
