Centre-right politicians prosper in French prime minister Gabriel Attal’s new government
Sylvie Retailleau, France’s minister of research and higher education, has kept her job in a government reshuffle, after weeks of speculation.
She will sit at the cabinet table with new ministers for national education, foreign affairs and health. Catherine Vautrin, an experienced centre-right politician, has been given the latter brief, along with those for labour and social cohesion, which were previously held by two separate ministers.
