Government’s third major AI announcement in weeks includes funding for fundamental mathematics
The French government has launched a dedicated research programme in artificial intelligence, with an initial budget of €73 milllion to run until the end of 2030.
The programme adds to the French government’s push to position the country at the forefront of R&D in AI. Earlier this month the government published a report recommending investment of €27 billion over five years. It also announced it will create a €300m-per-year Ministerial Agency for Defence AI.
