France’s prime minister Gabriel Attal has drawn fire from prominent academics for his actions and statements earlier this month after a case of alleged antisemitic abuse during a student occupation of a lecture hall as part of a pro-Palestinian demonstration.
The newspaper Le Monde has published extracts from an internal memo signed by research directors, heads of schools and departments and the elected members of the board of directors of the National Political Science Foundation (FNSP), which has a supervisory role for Sciences Po, one of France’s best-known grandes écoles.
