China partnership culminates in rocket launch

A Chinese spacecraft carrying a German research experiment took off on 31 October from the Mongolian Jiuquan spaceport in a first-time research collaboration.

Germany’s SIMBOX-module aboard the Shenzou-8 rocket will study biological reactions in space. The probes will remain in space for 17 days before being parachuted back to Earth.
