Construction has started at the Jülich research centre for a centre on division membrane research, the aim of which is to reduce carbon emissions by power stations.

The centre will cost €16 million, funded by the German research ministry. It will house researchers from the Jülich materials, energy and climate research centres, and its goal is to develop membranes that can separate carbons from other emissions before they are released into the atmosphere.
