First-ever Fraunhofer announced for university of applied science

The University of Applied Sciences Ostwestfalen-Lippe will house Germany’s first-ever Fraunhofer institute to be located in such an institution, it was announced on 9 December.

Fraunhofer institutes are usually based at traditional universities or are independent. The selection of the UAS to host the new institute is a reward for North-Rhine Westphalia’s efforts to boost its innovation profile, the Land’s research ministry said.
