Helmholtz energy research centre goes to Ulm

The city of Ulm will host a newly launched Helmholtz research centre for research into energy storage, the Baden-Württemberg government announced on 17 June.

The centre, based on a network of five smaller centres carrying out electro-technical research, will be housed at the University of Ulm. Construction for the centre will cost €12 million, which is paid for by the Helmholtz Association’s funds, and is expected to be completed in 2014, the Baden-Württemberg government said.
