Bavaria will host 11 of Germany’s 78 Starting Grants, which were awarded last week in the European Research Council’s latest funding round.
The grant-holders will do their ERC-funded research at universities in Bayreuth, Munich, Nuremberg, Regensburg and Würzburg, the Bavarian research ministry announced on 12 September. Over 92 German scientists have won an ERC Starting Grant in this year’s funding round, but some have taken their projects elsewhere.
