The North Rhine-Westphalian government has given up to €20,000 to each of 10 universities to support their applications for EU research funding.
The universities are planning to participate in the final funding round of the Framework 7 research funding programme, and are all proposing projects in the social sciences and humanities. The money is intended to help the universities plan cooperation, attend conferences and workshops in other countries and hire extra staff to develop research proposals.
