NRW raises higher education budget by 11%

North Rhine-Westphalia has increased its higher education and research budget by 11 per cent compared to 2012, it was announced on 17 January.

The budget for 2013 is €7.4 billion, of which €4.4bn is for higher education institutions. Of the remaining money, €1bn will go to medical research and €681 million will go to innovation partnerships between universities and businesses.
