Schleswig-Holstein funds PhDs at applied science universities

The government of Schleswig-Holstein has given €1.8 million to universities of applied sciences, or Fachhochschulen, to fund PhD places and research projects, it was announced on 8 April.

The funding will strengthen role of these institutions in research, as traditionally Fachhochschulen do not award PhDs.
