€113m for interdisciplinary centres

Germany’s largest public research funder has agreed to support 13 further collaborative research centres at universities.

The Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft announced on 22 May that it would support the centres for four years with a total of about €113 million. Four of the 13 are interregional centres, spread over a number of applicant sites.

The DFG also agreed to continue providing support to 28 other centres, taking the total number supported by the funder to 241. The host universities are also expected to provide core support.
