Fraunhofer institutes in Saxony and Bavaria have combined with local universities to create centres for nano-electronics and electronic systems research.
Four Fraunhofer institutes in Dresden have joined forces with technical universities in Dresden and Chemnitz to set up a research centre for macro-electronics and nano-electronics.
The centre, due to open on 1 July, will work closely with local companies to combine research expertise and bring innovations to market. During a two-year pilot phase, the centre will be funded by the Fraunhofer Society, Saxony’s state government and industrial partners.
