State wins matching funds for training

Baden-Württemberg’s science ministry has announced a five-year programme for lifelong science learning, supported by matching funds from the European Social Fund.

The ministry announced on 27 May that the fund of €11 million would be used to support the development and strengthening of opportunities for lifelong and career-long study. The ministry and the European Social Fund will provide half of the funding each, from 2016 to 2020.

To win funding, projects should focus on the learning needs of part-time students; consider different study formats, such as online modules; plan professional support structures; promote links between university education and vocational education; and be prepared to finance their own initial phase.
