Heating R&D taps EU funding

A Bavarian research centre for renewable energy heating has won €1.3 million from European structural funds.

The money will pay for research and pilot projects on local heating systems, where just a few households share a heat source. The winning centre is based at the Technical University Ingolstadt, which focuses on applied research.

The funding is allocated from the €48m pot that Bavaria received as its EU Structural fund allocation for 2014-20.
