DAAD and British Council to track transnational education

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) has developed guidelines for collecting uniform data on cross-border university partnerships.

The guidelines, developed jointly with the British Council and presented at the Going Global conference in London in May, will be used to set up a comprehensive database allowing different cross-border projects and partnerships to be compared in a standardised way.

Transnational education has a crucial role in the internationalisation of universities as It helps to meet the growing demand for higher education in parts of Asia, the Middle East and Latin America, the DAAD said.
