A 20-year partnership between the Fraunhofer Society and Nanyang Technological University has yielded Fraunhofer Singapore, the society’s first legally independent subsidiary in Asia.
The Fraunhofer Institute for Computer Graphics Research in Darmstadt formed ties with Nanyang Technological University in 1997. This led to the creation of the Fraunhofer Project Center for Interactive Digital Media in 2010, which this month gained status as Fraunhofer Singapore, a legally independent subsidiary.
Researchers at Fraunhofer Singapore are focusing on Industry 4.0, personal health, smart cities and visual computing, Fraunhofer said in a statement on 6 June. The centre has about 30 full-time staff.
