Germany’s federal education ministry has chosen 10 research clusters and networks that will receive up to €4 million each to cooperate with partners in other countries.
The winning entries in the Internationalisation of Top Clusters, Future Projects and Comparable Networks competition were announced on 26 June. They include a life sciences network that will cooperate with researchers in China, and an alliance for environmentally friendly deep-sea mining.
The ministry will provide funding for up to five years, starting in early 2018. A particular aim was to provide opportunities for small and medium-sized businesses to engage in international innovation and knowledge transfer.
