Medical imaging project tops infrastructure ranking

A planned facility for medical imaging has come out on top of a German ranking of national research infrastructure that should be given funding priority.

The Nationale Biomedizinische Bildgebungseinrichtung won the maximum five stars in three of the four categories in a study by the Wissenschaftsrat, a council of senior scientists that advises the German government.

The NIF scored the highest marks for its scientific potential, ease of access and importance to Germany as a cutting-edge science player. It scored four stars in the rating of its implementation.
