€15m to ‘make our planet great again’

Germany is contributing €15 million to a joint research programme as part of France’s Make Our Planet Great Again initiative.

The funding, provided by Germany’s federal education ministry, will be used to support excellent scientists worldwide who contribute to climate protection through their research into climate, energy and Earth systems, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) announced on 5 September.

Successful applicants will be given the chance to establish a research group in cooperation with a German university or research institution. Scientists at all career stages can apply, but they must have been active outside Germany for the past two years.
